We love to worship God and sing his praises! God's Word In Action International Faith Center is our home church and we praise and worship God every Wednesday
evening and Sunday morning with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We have a heart to please God. Elisha's Calling wants "...to loose the
bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the
oppressed go free, and break every yoke" (Isaiah 58:6).
Almost five years ago, we started playing in our church. We began
playing contemporary praise and worship. We started writing our own
songs and "saving" old rock-and-roll tunes. We are also members of
Circuit Riders Motorcycle Ministry. We were invited to play at campouts
and outreach events with them and other ministries. God began to open
the doors for other venues. We have been blessed to share God's love
with hundreds of people over the years. God has so much in store for
this year and years to come - we are truly blessed.
In 2008, we stepped out in faith and entered the Neon Fish Battle of
the Bands in Houston, Texas. With the favor of God, we won! This was an
awesome time of learning and growing. We met wonderful, God-loving
people with hearts to sing praises to our King through all kinds of
music! It was quite an experience and the rewards have been great so
far. Doors opened to perform in new places around Houston. We were
featured in an interview on a local Christian radio station. We went on
"The Spirit Cruise" to Mexico. Not only did we get to play in one of
the on-board clubs, but because of Hurricane Gustav, we were at sea an
extra full day and were able to play on the main stage of the ship
during the Guest Talent Show. What a blessing! The next phase is
recording our first CD!
This year we stepped out in faith and held a music festival at our church in Dayton. We wanted to benefit the Rose of Sharron, Lilies Among Thorns ministry. God showed up and showed off! The festival went smoothly and the Rose of Sharron was tremendously blessed. We are looking forward to doing it again next year. We recently joined the Texas Christian Songwriters Association (www.texascsa.com). This is a great association for artists from Texas. Our church is a partner for outreach concerts and we had our first one in May of 2009. We also attended the first annual Texas CSA Conference in Arlington and had a great time meeting a lot of the members.
